The canvas is a live interactive surface, not a static preview. Drag inside a text block to move it wherever it belongs. Keep the black outline on unless your text sits on a solid dark block; the outline is what keeps small captions readable on busy photos. Restrict yourself to two or three layers per image — a caption for the subject, one for the punchline, and maybe a tiny label — because every extra text block dilutes the joke. Use rotation sparingly: a five-degree tilt feels human, a forty-degree tilt feels like a mistake. And export at the full canvas resolution rather than a screen capture, so your text stays crisp when it is enlarged on a phone. Three habits separate quick edits from clean ones. First, resist the urge to fill every empty pixel. A caption that hugs the subject and leaves breathing room around it reads faster than one stretched corner to corner. Second, keep a consistent size hierarchy: one headline layer carries the joke, every other layer is noticeably smaller, so the eye knows where to land first. Third, check the result at phone size before exporting, because the full-resolution canvas lies — what looks perfectly legible on a desktop monitor can turn into an unreadable smudge when the image is shrunk to a chat thumbnail. If text overlaps a face, nudge it to the nearest margin rather than shrinking it to nothing; a caption in the corner beats a caption on someone's eyes. And if a layer refuses to land exactly where you want, use the sliders rather than fighting your mouse — pixel numbers never drift the way fingers do on a touchscreen.
